I’ve been doing a little freelance article writing this week, it pays the rent and gives me something to keep me busy.

But it can be difficult, lets look at yesterdays assignment. I am given a list of 40 travel companies such as Airtours PLC and Lunn Poly and asked to write 300 words of quality bullshit about each of them. Sounds easy right? But here’s the kicker, they have to pass a well known web content test to make sure they are unique and not just re-hashed existing ones.

Just how many ways can you say this company sells holidays and they try to sell them as cheap as they can?

Imagine doing that 40 times whilst trying to make it sound interesting and being totally unique. It took me 15 hours! Totally mind numbing stuff. I uses a voice recognition application when I am writing them and I swear my neighbours think I’m mad. All they can see is what looks like me sitting on my balcony talking to myself!
