A little damp…
I think the flooding here in Thailand has made international news, so most people are probably aware that we have had severe floods for the last week or so.
However, I think we need to define the words severe. For example, close to the small village in Isan where I live (which is luckily well above sea level), they have been using boats to travel around, as entire areas are underwater.
The real problem lies in the fact that they just don’t build storm drains in Thailand. The water sits on the ground, being soaked up, which can take quite a while when the ground has been dry for several months. Eventually though, the ground becomes saturated and the water starts to rise.
Anyway, it looks like the worst is over now, it didn’t affect me all that much, just loss of our electricity supply for a few extended periods.
