A hell of a journey.
I finally left Bangkok yesterday evening, sad to leave the old place, I was just getting the hang of it. But I guess enough is as good as a feast, time to go chill for a bit.
I jumped on the 7:30pm sleeper train from Bangkok to Surit Thani, what a nightmare that turned out to be! The train was an hour late and 30 minutes after I boarded they turned all the seats into beds, so I was forced into prison inside a little sleeper cell for 12 fucking hours! Here is what it looked like with me in it.
After 12 hours of sheer hell I got off the train and was aproached by a very nice lady (when will I ever learn?) asking me where I was going. I told her Koh Phangan and she said her tour people could take me all the way to the island on an express boat for 300 baht (£4.50) and it would take 2 hours.
2.5 hours after finally setting sail we aproach an island, I go to try and get my baggage and I’m told no, don’t get off, this is Koh Samui, we go to Koh Phangan next. So much for 2 hours, it took closer to 5 in the end. I walked off the boat completely fucked and hadn’t had a shower in over 30 hours (you need them like every 3 hours here).
So I’m now installed in my wicked little house, I won’t say much about it now because it’s so good it’s getting it’s own blog entry tomorrow when I have taken some pictures. The monkeys are making a fucking lot of noise though!
Here is a shot of the main street in Thong Sala, the largest town on Koh Phangan, kinda different from Bangkok!
In true biblical sense, if this is heaven on earth then their must also be an aspect of the devil floating around. I have successfully identified it and it lives in my scooter, it keeps trying to kill me. Who the fuck invented a motorcycle with gears but no clutch? It’s just plain weird.
