Going Home

Personal, Work December 18th, 2009

Finally, after several weeks of working away, visiting Pattaya, Jontiem and Phuket, I get to go home to Surin next week!

I don’t mind travelling to work, I actually really quite like it, but I have spent 4 months on the road already this year, so it’s time for a rest.

Too many problems

Freelancing, Health, Home Life, Parenting, Technology, Work July 14th, 2008

Why do problems never happen singularly? Just like the old adage about buses in the UK, you don’t see any for a long time, then three come along at once.

Well the last week has seen my three buses arrive in quick succession. Firstly I am snowed under with work right now, not a problem in itself, but definitely a problem when considered as part of the overall situation. Secondly, Nuth has been sick, meaning I have had to take care of Leon, no time for work, anyone who thinks you can take care of a baby and still get a full days work in is living on a different planet. Lastly, the Internet in the apartment building has been terrible lately, most of the time it is unusable. So between looking after Leon, and a dodgy Internet connection, I have managed to dig myself in to quite a hole with a huge backlog of work. This week I am going to need to put in something like 60 hours just to catch up! Oh well, fingers crossed I can clear my desk by the end of the week and take a couple of days off.

Playing catch up

Koh Phangan, Work January 25th, 2008

After a couple of days of a very dodgy Internet connection, I am finally catching up with my workload. I wish Zab was back on the island though, I could really use a little help from him with some of the outstanding stuff, I just don’t seem to have enough hours in the day to deal with it all, especially now baby Leon has arrived.

Nuth is really good though, if she knows I am working she takes care of him completely and feeds me coffee all day, only now and then does she make it clear she is tired of sitting and home, and hints we should go out to lunch or something similar, this is actually really good for me, as otherwise I would be sitting in the same chair for 12 hours straight every day, not a nice way for things to turn out.

I am going to pull an all night session tonight, and hopefully have a completely clear day tomorrow, I am going to take her out to a really nice beach resort up in Haad Yao for lunch I think. I might even try putting Leon in the waves on the edge of the beach to see what he thinks of them!

Google are not very nice sometimes

And that is putting it very very pleasantly indeed, the sons of god knows what have just wiped the pagerank of this blog to zero, they have done this because I scrape a living making sponsored blog posts, I am really rather angry at them

It seems they have done this to thousands of people who use a certain blog marketing website, I wouldn’t mind but the site in question uses pagerank as a system to allocate paid post opportunities. So now I am doubly stuffed, no pagerank and no paid blog opportunities. This really is very annoying, please not I have not used a single swear word in this post, although I am definitely thinking them.
