I was going through some of the old movies I took with my mobile phone and found this short clip I took of Leon when he was only a few hours old. This video was taken in the hospital in Surin, and I have to say, the service from this hospital was superb, ok it was a private hospital so you expect a decent level of service, but it was far from the most expensive private hospital.

I can’t believe how small he looks in that video, it makes him look like a giant now!

I’m currently staying in a hospital suite in Surin following the birth of my Son. I’m going to keep this a very short post as I want to keep it about completely good things about the birth, I’ll leave the discussion of my in-laws for later.

So here he is….

He was born at 8:21PM on 11th of November 2007, he weighed 3550 Grams and was 53cm long.

He doesn’t eat very much, he doesn’t cry very much either. Because Nuth had to have a caesarean the Doctor has told me that it’s my job to stay awake all night and take care of the baby. It’s pretty tiring!

What a stunning day it is here today, they sun is shining, the birds are singing and I haven’t seen a single car or motorcycle pass my house since I woke up. There are no clouds in the sky either, which is quite surprising, being an island we almost always have some cloud over the mountains. The air is clear and I can see the jungle up on the mountains very well. I might have to break out my camera and go take some photographs if I can summon up the energy to climb up to the viewpoint.

I’m sure my day will be ruined when I telephone Honda and they tell me my bike won’t be repaired for yet another 2 weeks. This is becoming a problem, I have a visa run to do sometime in the next 10 days, I was hoping to take the CBR across to the mainland and drive down to Malaysia, this would save me having to pay the extortionate minibus drivers.

Oh well, today is officially a holiday, I have no work to do until I go and cover the Full Moon Party tonight.
