Leon and the bananas

Yesterday Nuth decided that it was time that Leon tried solid foods. This turned out to be really rather amusing, although not so for Leon, let me explain.

We had picked some bananas from the garden the day before and hung them up to turn yellow, Nuth was eyeing them and suddenly got up and said she was going to the market. She came back about 30 minutes later with a small babies bowl and a spoon.

She then grabbed a couple of bananas, disappeared into the kitchen and came back out a while later with a bowl of disgusting… Continue reading

When it all goes a bit wrong

You might remember me posting something a while back about having to employ a couple of people to help me out with my increasing work load. This has proven to be somewhat problematic in organising.

I have employed 2 people, and they could not be more different. The first one is a young guy who has a degree in business studies and produces very good work for me, the main thing I like about him is the speed in which he produces results, I get a 24 hour turnaround with him every time, always perfect.

Live streaming a total success

Last night saw the first live usage of the mobile audio streaming rig I have put together, this consists of two laptops, one CDMA phone and another phone using a GPRS EDGE connection. The CDMA is used for the upstream and the less reliable GPRS to monitor the downstream.

The next challenge is live streaming video, although I… Continue reading

Pretty good for a two month old

Leon is getting rather smart these days, it truly is incredible to witness how quickly he is developing. It was only 2 months ago that he was a helpless sack of skin and bones who couldn’t even lift his own head.

Now he smiles and laughs when you play with him, he recognises both myself and Nuth, although Nuth much more than me, and gets excited, waving his arms around and kicking his legs when you are close enough to pick him up. I think a lot of this has to do with his rapidly improving vision.

A friend of… Continue reading

Switching from Dragonfly CMS to WordPress

I really am sick of using Dragonfly CMS over at Koh Phangan Parties, the support from the developers is terrible, the code itself is complete garbage in places and the style sheets are a complete joke.

I would like to switch to using WordPress, ok I would have to customise it quite significantly but I think it would be a better solution in the long run. Also I like the fact I can make WordPress a lot more SEO friendly than Dragonfly, it took me 2 weeks of pain just to get the on the page issues sorted with my… Continue reading
