Finally, a Google toolbar PageRank update
It’s been months since the last toolbar pagerank update but finally Google seem to have gotten around to it.
I’m pretty pleased that some of my new sites have come back with a pagerank even though I did very little actual link building, just linked from my own sites to them. This is really a nice little bonus for things like my sponsored blog and my Koh Phangan party site, a nice little bump I wasn’t expecting.

Some really very annoying things happening here at the moment, firstly we have been without running water for two days now and it’s starting to get bloody awkward, in typical Thai fashion they are not able to keep the water pumping when it’s raining this hard, god knows why.
Then there is the electricity, it’s been off more than it has been on for the last 4 days and it’s causing me severe work problems, rumour has it that when there is a bad storm the under sea cables move so they switch the power off. Again, typically Thai, they… Continue reading
Possibly more family members due soon
A few weeks ago we took in a stray cat, it was pretty wild at first but it seems to have settled in nicely though. There are a lot of stray cats on Koh Phangan, most of them look very healthy actually. At first it didn’t eat very much, but gradually it got used to proper food instead of garbage from the streets and started to eat more and more. Because of this I didn’t really take a lot of notice at first when it started to get a little fat as you can see from this picture.
But now I… Continue reading
Never rains but it pours
Well the rainy season is upon us again, and it’s pretty serious so far this year, we have had almost constant rain for the past week. Last night I was woken up at 4am by a particularly loud thunderstorm which seemed to be directly overhead, the whole house was shaking with each boom of thunder.
I don’t mind the rain here, it’s quite interesting to watch, it’s not at all like the rain back in the UK, we seldom get drizzle we just seem to get downpours here, but now it’s getting to be a problem, the ground is waterlogged… Continue reading
Extreme weather computing
I am currently trying to cope with the rainy season here on Koh Phangan, this is causing some interesting technical problems.
Firstly there is the damp, if I switch off one of my PCs for an extended period of time I tend to have problems getting it started again, also have had component failures, more than should be expected.
Then there is the power, it goes on and off all day, sometimes 30 times a day at the moment, even a UPS isn’t proving to be very helpful as the charge gets slowly depleted throughout the day as the power… Continue reading
