Ok, maybe it should be spelled genny? No matter how it’s spelled I need one! I had a deadline to meet the other night and I was cutting it pretty fine in meeting it, so there I am at 10pm in front of my PC bashing away on the keyboard and what happens? The island loses it’s power, this isn’t usually a problem as I am used to it now, it happens frequently. Usually I just switch on my laptop, plug in my mobile phone and start working again but this time I had forgotten to charge my laptop!

So I have decided to try and buy a generator, god knows where I am going to find one on Koh Phangan but if I can then it will make sure I don’t miss another deadline again due to power problems!

Well two new family members actually, firstly we have another new cat, we got it free with a tin of exterior paint, they even delivered it in a pickup for us, no joke. It’s easier looking after the at than it was painting the house though, somebody remind me that physical labour is not nice in a tropical climate such as we have on Koh Phangan and that hired labour is cheap in Thailand next time I decide to do some D.I.Y.

But the main new member is who Nuth and I currently called ‘him’ as we can’t agree on a name just yet. He’s due to arrive in less than 2 months now, I think Nuth will be glad when he does arrive cos’ she’s getting pretty big now! Here he is still shot from his first ever movie, the doctor filmed him on ultrasound some time back.

So I think that next month Nuth is going home to Surin so her family can take care of her for the last month of her pregnancy, that’s a pretty normal thing to do in Thailand. Plus I think she is staying there a while after to recuperate, I will drive the bike up to Surin for the birth but won’t be staying the whole time.

I really don’t rate social networking sites very highly as valuable web content, I figure they are just gimmicks but 3 days ago facebook did something amazing for me. It re-united me with my best friend who I lost contact with some years ago somehow, he managed to find my facebook profile and sent me a message!

So now I’m thinking of setting up a Thailand ex-pat social networking site as a little side project, who knows it might work out quite well!

I just can’t seem to get anything done at the moment and I don’t know why, Koh Phangan does that to you sometimes, I’ve been really tired since I came back from Ranong. I’ve let work slip a bit due to this, gonna have to make up for that over the next few days.

One very cool thing did happen to me yesterday though, my oldest friend Garry Downey managed to track me down on Facebook and sent me a message, I haven’t seen or spoken to him in years and have often wondered how the hell I could get in touch with him again.
