Finally Honda fixed my bike

After 4 weeks of constantly calling them to hurry them along Honda finally fixed my CBR! Well almost, this is Thailand, you didn’t expect it to be perfect did you? They replaced the fairing, headlights and windshield. But they forgot to order a decal set for it. So my poor bike is naked! Actually it looks quite cool in pure black without the graphics.

This really is good news though, I have to make a visa run to Ranong next week and I can now go on the bike! Hop on the ferry over to Surat Thani and then about… Continue reading

Full moon hangover

That time of the month came around again last night and off I went to cover this insane event. I don’t look forward to it most months, it’s hard work having to take care of my expensive camera and stuff whilst trying to have a good time and get enough coverage for a news article on my other site.

Stunning morning on Koh Phangan

What a stunning day it is here today, they sun is shining, the birds are singing and I haven’t seen a single car or motorcycle pass my house since I woke up. I’m sure… Continue reading

Why do people seem to think a techie will work for free?

Yesterday I had a second meeting with a guy that is interested in having a travel booking website developed. This time around he had a design document, ok well, he had a document, as a functional spec it’s the usual junk created by somebody who thinks that just because they can use a word processor they are qualified to write a system spec.

I knew this was going to be a fairly big project for me and reading over this document confirmed that there is a lot of work to be done. So I’m sitting in this guys office, quickly… Continue reading

GoDaddy – Could a company give worse service?

I usually buy my domains from Purple Cloud but they cannot register the .ws TLD. So I decided to give GoDaddy a try, I’ve heard mixed opinions about them but they are cheap.

So about 10 days ago I ordered a pair of domains, no problem, paid by PayPal, the domains were up and running within minutes, I switched the name servers over to my host and all was fine.

Then 2 days later I started getting odd emails from GoDaddy, within a few hours I had a matching set for both domains, firstly a mail saying I had requested… Continue reading
